This is tricky as I don’t differentiate between a leap and a step. The technical difference between them is that a leap switches feet by going into the air whereas a step does not. There are 2 problems with this. The first is the grey area problem. If you start doing shuffle steps slowly you are clearly not in the air when switching feet. However as you speed up at some point you start going into the air to switch feet. But when exactly does that change happen? That leads me to problem two, are we going to call a move “shuffle step” when it’s slow and “shuffle leap” when it’s fast? That can get confusing really fast and tap names are already confusing enough.

Tip: Keep those heels up.
