This is a vital core step of tap dance. You absolutely must master this if you ever want to be a great tapper. I was originally taught this with a swing rhythm, but I’ve found when doing steps containing a shuffle quickly, you must be able to control the shuffle and do it evenly to achieve good sounds at high speed.
Tip: If you shuffle on the inside of the ball tap you prevent a loud smacking sound from happening that’s caused by hitting the ball tap flat on the floor during the spank.
